We are finally getting some snow (more than 1 inch that is).  I love snow.  We are getting just enough 4 to 5 inches to be pretty but not a problem.  I've been quilting.  I'm using size 10 DMC and I'm really liking it. On Sunday I was making candy (until 12:30AM but lets try to forget that). Anyway, I will admit that I love me some Oreo cookies and milk so when I saw these candy molds I had to have them (I bought them for Halloween too, but I didn't use them this year).Crazy easy, you fill them about 3/4 of the way full with melted chocolate and then press the Oreo into it and let it set. Aren't they cute?!

I am really happy to have these few pieces from the kiln firing yesterday.Because when I opened up the kiln it was a big mess! All of the wires that my things were hanging from bent and everything was stuck together! I even had a few things stuck to the kiln posts so now I have glaze on them that will have to be sanded off! Not. I spent all afternoon yesterday stitching one of my velvet blocks and then...ripping it all back out because I didn't like it - too much stitching didn't look good. After watching teesha's Free Fabric Journal Workshop Videos I immediately wanted to make some.Very fun, but my corners are very wonky.I made these with my hand dyed velvet.Very fun. I'm going to do the stitching on the blocks this week. I still don't know what I'm going to use them for. I liked her bag and her journal covers and I loved her banner and those faces. Last night I decided to play around with some rug hooking. I cut a 15 inch square of burlap, did a really quick sketch, and then just jumped right in. It's very addictive.
