Got in a little sewing...

I was able to get some sewing in on Sunday. I made these blocks....
They will be little mini quilt ornaments and stuff. I'm going to take them to the hospital with me to work on while I'm waiting for Mark to have his surgery.

I ordered this house for Kellie for Christmas. It was delivered on Saturday. That wouldn't have been a problem if they had put it in a shipping box. But no. It was delivered in it's box with all the photos of exactly what it is!!! On the front porch at 10 AM on Saturday when she was home and coming down the stairs to see who was at the door! We thought it was Ryan's friend DJ. Thank God I got to the door first! I was like AAAAHHHH! Kellie go away! Go to your room and close the door until I tell you you can come out! This stupid thing is her SANTA gift! Those stupid idiots at that store! Who ships toys at Christmas time not in a shipping box?!

Because my sister makes the most amazing cranberry mold in the universe I am going to share it with you. You need to make this -- you will love me forever for how amazing it is...

PINEAPPLE - CRANBERRY MOLD

Drain two 8 oz cans of crushed pineapple in juice (reserve the juice)

Add port wine to make 1 cup of juice

Dissolve two packages (3 oz each) Cherry Jello in 2 cups of boiling water

Break up two 8 oz cans of whole berry cranberry sauce

Add to jello; add measured liquid and chill until thickened (about 1 hour)

Add pineapple, 2 cups of diced apple; 2/3 cups chopped walnuts; 2 tsp grated orange rind and 2 dashes of cardamom. Pour into large jello mold. Chill until firm (about 4 hours). Unmold. YUM!

We make it at Christmas with ham too. And I just thought I would share my stuffing recipe with you because it's so crazy good...

SAUSAGE STUFFING

3 loaves of sandwich bread (crusts removed) broken into 1 inch pieces

2 cups chopped onion

1 cup chopped celery

1 1/2 cups butter

1 cup snipped parsley

3 tsp poultry seasoning

1/2 tsp pepper

2 tsp salt

1 pound sage sausage

Brown the sausage with the celery and onion. Stir in butter, parsley, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper, and bread crumbs. Mix well. Stuff bird. YUM! This is how much I made when we only had 18 people. Now that all the guys are big and there are 24 of us, I double this recipe except for the salt (I use 3 tsp of salt).

And the candied sweet potatoes...

CANDIED SWEET POTATOES

6 Medium Sweet Potatoes

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup dark corn syrup

2 Tbsp Water

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

Boil potatoes 25 minutes, cool, peel and cut in half lengthwise. In shallow dish melt butter, add syrup, water and sugar. Arrange potatoes on top. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees. YUM!

The funny tradition that we have is that we always start with a cup of fruit cocktail. I'm not sure why my mom started the fruit cocktail thing -- I guess she wanted to be fancy or something when we were little. Anyway now you wouldn't dare not have fruit cocktail at the start of Thanksgiving dinner in my family. We add cut up bananas and strawberries to it. Very fancy. :O) That's okay -- this year I am going to serve it in my new bowls...

We also have sauerkraut with our dinner because my mom's mom's family came here from Germany. I think it might be a Baltimore - German thing.

Do you have any special traditions at your house?

Oh those first years...

But first, I just have to tell you that I have been dressing Mark every morning since this entire thing started. So he's hopping through the kitchen with his crutches and I notice that ... his pants were on backwards. "ooooh, ahh honey...I put your pants on backwards." LOL Nice Mary. Nice. "Well at least I caught it before we went to the doctor!" LOL. So there he was in the middle of the kitchen standing on his crutches while I turned his pants around. Very dignified. LOL He will be very very happy to take control of his life back!

Then Molly (self absorbed child number 2) says "Mom, I will be staying after school Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday I'm going to the mall and the movies with my friends. okay?" Ahhh, Hello?! Did you just fall off the turnip truck or what? MOLLY! Have you somehow forgotten that Thursday is Thanksgiving and that Wednesday I'll be at the hospital FOR YOUR FATHERS OPERATION?!!!! Let me give you a clue about how your days will go...Monday CLEANING YOUR DISASTER OF A ROOM! Tuesday CLEANING THAT PIG PEN YOU CALL A RABBIT CAGE! Wednesday HELPING ME BY BREAKING UP 6 LOAVES OF BREAD AND BABYSITTING YOUR SISTER SINCE I'LL BE WHERE?! OH THAT"S RIGHT AT THE GD HOSPITAL ALL DAY!!!! Think Molly. Think. So this conversation led to a come to Jesus meeting ! I had everyone stop what they were doing and come to the kitchen where I yelled at the top of my lungs at all of them for a good 10 minutes. I realized that clearly I needed to explain to all of them how this week was going to go down! After they all ran to their rooms to hide I looked over at Mark who pointed at Howard who was hiding in the corner shaking! I have to admit it probably scares the hell out of them when I get like that -- I get so angry that my face turns red, my eyes get crazy and I always cry through the entire rant! Yeah, I was having a good 10 minutes of total flip out! Which of course never makes me feel better -- it only makes me weepy because I get so frustrated and angry and then I have to yell like that to get the point across. hhhhh. So moving on to funnier things...

This is my all time favorite photo of Thanksgiving...
This was the very first year I had EVER made Thanksgiving dinner. It was 1998 and Ryan was 18 months old. I love how he is sitting there waiting for me to fix his dinner. I love this photo. I ordered my turkey from this local store not realizing that they used Wampler brand turkeys. Well, let me tell you I have NEVER in my life seen so much liquid come out of a bird! It was INSANE! I was bailing bailing bailing. That darn turkey was a mess! It tasted good, but it looked like it had been crock potted and I didn't like the idea that they had injected it with gallons of liquid! So anyway, this is the photo of the turkey during cooking when we had to remove it from the oven so that Mark and my brother Brian could put out the FIRE! LOL! I thought it was hilarious! Jason thought it was fascinating...Brian thought it was funny. Mark was just trying to keep me from burning down the house on Thanksgiving...The only one who didn't think it was hilarious actually, was my oldest brother Ken who had brought a date to my house for Thanksgiving....oh well. If you can't take the crazy at my house then stay the hell home! That no sense of humor woman! :O)

This is the next year (1999) No fire. Ordered the turkey from a new place...Only problem...They gave me a 31 pound turkey...then I stuffed it! because in my family if you don't have enough in-the-bird stuffing you are in big big trouble! I usually have some stuffing that wont fit in the bird -- not that year! OMG just thinking about how big that thing was makes me laugh. I wrapped my arms around it like a sumo wrestler...Hoooyaa as I hurled it into the pan (the pan that says it will hold up to a 20 pound turkey...hmmmm. It is the biggest pan I have ever been able to find~so far it has held (I probably just jinxed myself)! Which is why they were all standing around it trying to decide HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET THIS GIANT BIRD OUT OF THE OVEN!!!! Rather large to begin with, but then I stuffed it (with 6 loaves of bread, 2 pounds of sausage and cups and cups of celery, onion, parsley...) It weighed oh 45 pounds AT LEAST! This is my brother Ken, Mark and my nephew Matt (and my mom) all looking at the oven trying to decide what the best plan of action should be... (I love how they are all standing there planning the turkey extraction strategy! LOL)

more laughing... You see the grip my hands are in...I had images of yet another Turkey catastrophe...
Ken decides that the best plan of action is to GRAB the bird right out of the pan with the oven mitts on and plop it on the platter that Matt is holding...Matt's not so sure... (I love how Ken is showing us how it's to be done!)

Oh the crazy when my family is together. We are loud! We think everything is funny! It took Mark a while to get it - he came from a very small quiet family with only two kids. Then he enters my family where we are loud, there are five of us, plus my sister has three kids almost the same age as me (I'm 43, they are 37, 36, and 31) so they are like my siblings. I will never forget the first time he met them. We had only been dating gosh, maybe a month. He came to pick me up and everyone was at my moms. They swarmed him! Even the dog! And my mom kept calling him Jimmy (my old boyfriend!) He was looking at me like "please ssssssave me." When we left he said WOW! That was somethin'! Now...he wouldn't miss it for the world! If it's your first time with us you pretty much need Tylenol in anticipation of the noise--and a stiff drink to survive it! My niece Kate (31) didn't bring her boyfriend last year because she didn't think he was ready! LOL! God I love Thanksgiving!

Getting Ready

Getting ready for the big Turkey day next week. Ordered my 28 pound fresh turkey last Thursday...yum. Picked up all of my pink dishes that I had on layaway -- now I just need to wash them all. iiiii. I love Thanksgiving! I do.

Did I show you my little white feather tree all decked out for fall?

I added mini lights to it because my house is so dark this time of year...

It's all decorated with fall-ish birds, a squirrel, and some velvet pears...
and while I was at it I decided that my sewing area could use a few twinkle lights because as you know I am completely addicted to twinkle lights....
And I can't tell you how excited I am about my new over the door small ironing board and my new pink iron...

I have a really good iron for clothes and a full size ironing board upstairs, but I'm just too lazy to go up and down every time I need to iron something and I ruin irons with my crafting soooo...

problem solved! Now I can be lazy and messy while ironing! Brilliant!

And I was channeling Elizabeth Taylor when I made this ring...

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it in public, but it was really fun to make. I love beading. It's very zen-ish...I get all calm and cosmic when I'm beading. And right now I need all the calm and cosmic I can get. Did I mention that I have Thanksgiving every year for my entire family. 24 people. Sit down dinner. And I cook everything but the pies and cranberry mold (my sister handles that). Anyway, I have to clean the entire house, make all the food and oh, that's right I have to take Mark to the hospital for his 2pm back surgery on WEDNESDAY!!! mmmm. I said "don't you think we should cancel Thanksgiving at our house this year?" NO! It will be depressing enough having surgery the day before! I don't want to miss the party too! "But last time you were really tired after the surgery." If I get that tired I'll go up to bed for a little nap! There isn't any reason to cancel! So....bring on the cleaning, cooking, party while taking care of husband! Because apparently as long as there is breath in my body I'm making dinner and entertaining!

AND IT"S SNOWING TODAY!!! Yeah! First snow. Love it. Especially since it's not going to stick around!

Off to take hubz to the doctor for some pre-surgery tests. Yippee.

Saturday...

Crazy day Saturday. First the MRI, went just fine and now we just wait wait wait for Tuesday morning to see the surgeon.

Kellie and Molly made me these...

Howard by Kellie in salt dough...
A Mouse by Molly in salt dough...
Then, after being lost in a very safe place for the past 6 YEARS I found this...
It's the first stump work thing I ever made! I put it away for safe keeping and then lost it! I was looking through some linens in my hutch and between two vintage runners it had been waiting for me.

Saturday Mark was asleep ON THE NEW LIVING ROOM SOFA NOT 6 FEET FROM THE MAN CHAIR THAT HE HAD TO HAVE...but lets not go there...So I'm thinking I can sneak out and go to the fabric store for a little R and R. I whisper to Ryan...Pssst, if Daddy wakes up before I get back and is hungry make him a sandwich okay?...I ever so gently grab the door knob...slowly....slooooowly turn the knob breaking into a cold sweat as freedom is within reach....WHERE ARE YOU GOING? (Ahhh sh..!) hhhhh, I was just going out for a little bit. "Well, whats for lunch?" Are you hungry? (thinking...It's been like what an hour since I made you breakfast?!) "yeah, I'm hungry for some lunch. What do you have?" (a headache...but lets not go there either.) So I slowly, gently CLOSE the door and head back to the kitchen for some lunch prep! I did get to escape by saying I DESPERATELY needed ... something... and had to leave immediately after lunch.

And as my usual pattern of holiday craziness I decided that I must make a quilt for Kellie and a quilt for Molly for Christmas. Yes! Brilliant! So I bought this....
I'm going to make log cabins (just need 160 blocks - no prob :O) and then just set them differently for them so that they match but don't match -- ya know? Hmmm, I'm going to have to quilt them too aren't I? Probably should have thought about that before making the purchase. How much time do I have to make 160 blocks, set them, and quilt them and bind them? Huh. But...look how pretty the fabric is!

Then I went to pick up Jason from work. I was early so I was just sitting in the car with the engine running listening to my Ipod and sketching these two quilts. I glance up and this oldish guy is standing at the entrance to the parking lot - about 10 - 15 feet from me - drinking a bottle of water (but from the look of him I was thinking it was probably Vodka) and he's just staring at me. Creeped me out. So I locked the doors and went back to sketching. About 8 minutes later I hear a tap on the glass -- I look up expecting to see Jason and it's the guy. He says "got any cigarettes?" I shake my head no. He stares at me and then turns and walks away. It totally freaked me out. So Jason comes out, I tell him what happened and we go home. Two hours later I am driving Molly to school for her play and as we approach the traffic light at the entrance to our neighborhood THERE'S THE GUY! He's leaning over to the side as he's walking and he's staggering all over the place. Then he stumbles into the street and almost gets hit. He stumbles back onto the grass and grabs a street sign. I'm like I think we need to call 911. So some cars pulled over and the police were called. When I was coming back from the school they had two police cars there and an ambulance pulled up. It was crazy!

And I made pork ribs and they are super easy and really yummy so here is the recipe...

BBQ Sauce for Ribs

This sauce is for Country Style Ribs (you know the thick cut pork ribs)

5 Tbsp Chopped Onion
3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
3 Tbsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
14 1/2 oz Can Tomatoes
1/2 Cup Ketchup
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Mustard

Brown ribs in oil. Place ribs in baking dish and cover with sauce. Cover with foil and cook at 350 degrees for 2 hours. Turn ribs over after 1 hour and remove foil during the last 15 minutes of cooking. Yum!

Just a few things to say today...

Finally finished these...

And my new sofa and coffee table came today...
Mark is still in misery. He is in so much pain and they just keep saying "take a bunch of pills and you'll just have to wait until the doctor can see you on Tuesday." That's easy for them to say. They are not the ones yelling out in pain every time they have to get up to go to the bathroom! Not to mention the irritation of burning sick time sitting around waiting to see a doctor knowing that you will be using a LOT of sick time after you see the doctor. Lets just hope that they can schedule any surgery that he might need quickly. He can't go on like this. Poor guy. And then there is the fact that I can't leave the house! I'm going a bit stir crazy myself. I'm used to coming and going as I please all day and now if I go out the front door he's like "where did you go? What are you doing?" Ahhh, a little too much togetherness.

Kellie and I are going to Molly's play tonight. I know I shouldn't say it but...I don't feel like going. Isn't that mean. It's going to be such a late night. I have to wait for her to finish and change and then I'm driving her and a friend over to a restaurant for a late dinner with the cast. Luckily she is getting a ride home from the other girls mom so I wont have to go out again at like 1 AM to get her!

Mark has his MRI at 8AM tomorrow. THANK GOD! At least we will be moving toward a solution. He's losing his mind and he's taking the rest of us with him. All this waiting waiting waiting while he is in horrible pain is really nerve-wracking! Hopefully next week will be a better week.

And Howard is convinced that he fits just fine on the chair...
Ryan couldn't breath and was pretty sure that every bone in his legs were crushed, but Howard was very happy. Have a great weekend.

Shocking but true...

Isn't the world just grand?! My friend has a son who is 16. Her sister used her sons phone to take a photo while they were out. Her sister wanted to look at the photo so she scanned through the photos looking for it and up pops a photo of a girl naked from the waist up. Holy ....! She calls my friend. I hate to tell you this but.... My friend calls her son over. Ah, D I got a call from the phone company (? whatever works right) saying that one of our phones has an inappropriate image on it. I know it's not mine or Daddy's or R's so that leaves you. He says "oh, yeah. It's probably this one." real cool like that. So she says "Ah, D, who is this girl and why do you have a photo of her naked on your phone?" Oh, she's a 9th grader (14 years old!!!!) and she took a picture of herself and sent it to her boyfriend. Then they broke up and he has sent it to EVERYONE in school and they have sent it to EVERYONE. It's pretty much everywhere now. GET THAT PHOTO OFF OF YOUR PHONE THIS INSTANT AND DO NOT SEND THAT KIND OF IMAGE TO ANYONE!!! Don't you realize that you could get in trouble for passing it on too?!!! My friend called the high school to let the principal know what was going on and he said "yes, we know about it but it didn't happen on school grounds so there isn't anything we can do about it."

Can you imagine your daughter doing something so stupid?! I immediately had a talk with Miss Molly and Mr too cool Jason about it... Molly's like "MOM!!! I wouldn't do that!" Good because now you realize just how stupid it is!!! That girl has to face these people for 4 years! And they all have seen her photo or have it on their phone! And it might just be on the INTERNET!!! Stupid Stupid Stupid. And then there is the boy. If he's a senior and 18 (like Jason will be in his senior year) he could be charged with statutory rape or possibly child pornography!!!

And today I was going to Pennsylvania with a friend of mine to buy some amazing sewing machine feet for my Bernina and some fabric. But instead I did this with Mark all day...

I said "oh, it's okay--don't worry about that! I didn't really want to go anyway." Oh good then you didn't miss anything. "Right." (Inside it was boo hoo -- just lunch with my friend, lots of laughing, fabric shopping and sewing machine foot purchasing. But no, I didn't miss a thing.) I'm almost starting to like visiting the ER :O)

The good thing is that they gave Mark some new heavy duty drugs and he will now be seeing the surgeon on Tuesday instead of December 2! So that is good news. The bad news is that he is in more pain now than ever. I think we will be back in the ER before Tuesday. It's bad.

What Fall?

Who cancelled Fall? All the leaves are gone and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! And it's been in the 50's! Are they playing Christmas music where you are?! It's making me insane! I have four Christmas lists on my fridge right now...What the heck happened to FALL?!

Molly is practicing for another play at school. It's this weekend. So of course the idiot drama teacher is having the entire cast and crew practice every night this week from 5pm until 10:30pm! Mmmmm. She should be in great shape by Friday. Last night she called me at 10:45pm to come pick her up so that by the time we got home and she got ready for bed it was 11:20pm and she has to be up and on the school bus by 6:50am. mmmm. Did I mention that I just love this drama teacher. Oh, and can she go to the all night coed cast sleep over party at the drama teachers house? Aaaahhhhh, that would be a N-O !!!! I thought we had that covered with the last play but apparently Molly thinks she needs to keep asking. Just in case I lose my mind and decide to let her go.

Well, my mom finally had her hearing tested...guess what? she needs hearing aids. Shocking. :O) I was talking to her on Saturday about how I want to have a pellet stove put in our living room. I was rearranging furniture trying to see if we could fit one. She said "I don't understand why you would want a telescope in your living room." LOL! When did you say that hearing aid would be ready?! LOL

This is the pellet stove we have in our family room....
I love it. We had a fireplace in our first house, but we hardly ever used it. It's so time consuming. I like the pellet stove because I can turn it on (with a thermostat) any time I want and have a nice warm REAL fire, but when I need to leave or go to bed I just turn it off again. Love that. It's really convenient. Anyway, I would like to put one in our living room, too but we just don't have any room for it -- well, we did until the man chair arrived. rrrrrrr. Speaking of the man chair...
You know how Mark's back has been a little shaky lately, well it went on Sunday. So now he is in real real bad shape. We went to the doctor yesterday and they gave him some stronger meds and he will have an MRI on Saturday morning. He called the surgeon to make an appointment and they can't see him until DECEMBER 2!!! He's a mess. And you know what that means...he's cranky! He's been yelling no, he's screaming, at the kids for every little thing. I keep saying "I know he's hard to deal with right now, but he's in a lot of pain and he will probably have to have surgery again. Try to remember that when he's being so unreasonable." Easy for me to say that but geeeeeez he is making me crazy too. I really do feel sorry for him -- I can't believe they are making him wait until Dec 2 just to be seen. Last time he had to wait about 2 more weeks after seeing the doctor to have the surgery. It's exactly like the last time but on his right side this time. The last time they fixed it it was a 2 week recovery. If they fuse it this time it will be a 3 month recovery.

Too Cute, and Super Easy

Have you seen this book? I made these animal dolls for Kellie last Christmas. I love handmade toys at Christmas! Last night she was playing with them so I thought I would do a little show and tell today...
They are really really fast and easy. This one is my favorite!....
I made a white rabbit too, but I don't know where it is. It wasn't with the others.

I made them lots of tops...
Lots of skirts...
Lots of dresses...
Lots of tutus...
Two Very fancy outfits...
I still have to finish a few of the pants... I ran out of steam and time last Christmas and she's not really excited about the pants. I just thought she might like to have them anyway. Seeing her playing with them last night reminded me of these pants. I'm going to finish them today. I only have to hem and finish the waist on three them.

and this last sweater needs to be assembled...

The sweater was easy to knit. I mean it. It was easy! I wish people sweaters were as easy to make!

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

I finally finished the quilt stuff due Friday. Yep! I finished 11am this morning. So timely. So efficient. I had to overnight it by FedEx today. I was having anxiety dreams last night. I have crazy stress dreams. All my teeth fall out or I'm naked someplace. Last night's dream was that my eyeball fell out and I couldn't get it back in straight. I had to keep taking it out and turning it this way and that way but each time I put it back in it would be a little off. I am very glad that that quilt is OUT OF MY HANDS!!!! Good riddance! to that project from hell. All self inflicted stress but sheesh I'm glad it's finished.

I'm not so sure about the new furniture. Oh, I'm glad we have new furniture. The kids absolutely love it which is very important to me, but...This La-Z-Boy furniture is ridiculously huge. It's the complete opposite of what I would purchase if I only had to please myself. It is comfy and the kids do love it while they are watching tv but good Lord! It's huge. And poofy. Very Very Poofy. And now every time I walk into the living room there's another one! Big...big Man chair. That's what it is ... it's a man chair. I somehow let Mark convince me that he needed a man chair -- in the living room. I'm a damn good wife - that's all I've got to say about that - a damn good wife. I just keep reminding him that Christmas is coming...and we've got a man chair...in the living room...

And continuing the huge theme of the week...I picked up my huge platter...

She did still have the small plates that match it so I put them on layaway. Wow! This is not a great shot of this dish! The lighting in my house is awful. This is actually a really pretty cranberry pink.

And Howard freaked at the vet because an 8 pound terrier yapped at him. Just one little yap...like a hello. Howard crammed his head into my chest and started shaking like he was having a seizure! Oh, the mighty watchdog! So brave! The woman who owned the terrier was like "is your dog afraid of my dog?" Oh that would be a big yes. My 150 pound dog is most definitely petrified of your 8 pound dog.

Wait A Second...

Hi friends. Do you remember me talking about my new glasses...

here? Well last night I picked up a copy of this magazine...
and this was an article in it...
These are the little plates...
that go with the ginormous platter I bought that I thought ...eh, I don't think I'll get them. Well! I'm going to get them now!!! Don't they look pretty?! I had planned to stop in today to pick up my platter and the rest of my glasses. If she still has these plates I'm going to get them! I must have been out of my mind not to grab them when I saw them! I hope they are still there.

Mark and I have been in desperate need on new furniture. Our family room sofa and love seat were from This End Up. Do you remember them? They are still in business for new cushions, but I don't think you can buy the actual furniture anymore. Anyway, it has to be the most uncomfortable furniture in the world! I really hate it. Mark has been talking about getting a La-Z-Boy chair forever! So Saturday we went to the La-Z-Boy store and bought a new sofa and chair (the chair is one of those chair-and-a-half chairs) and it was delivered yesterday. First, we had to move all the rugs and the table in our foyer and hall. Then we had to take down the gate that we use to keep Howard from charging the front door. The new chair and sofa arrive... OMG! Were they THAT big in the store?!! This is the chair (the sofa matches -- it's just BIGGER (if that's possible)...

It's supper comfy though I must say. But as ridiculous as it is, my feet don't touch the floor when I sit on it! They are suspended about 6 inches off the floor! LOL I picked it anyway, because it's in the family room -- we lounge in the family room! And, as you know, I'm short -- if I pick furniture that is the right size for me -- everyone else will have their knees in their face! It's pretty funny though when I sit all the way back with my feet hanging there! It reminds me of Saturday Night Live with Gilda Radner -- remember her in the big chair?! too funny. The entire sofa reclines and so does the chair. The kids are loving it! I picked this set because they told me that the leather is the strongest thickest leather they sell -- that was really important since Howard likes to snuggle on the sofa with us. And I knew the kids would love how comfortable it is. Mark wasn't feeling the love. He likes it, but he wanted one that was a little more firm (these are supper squishy) so it was back to the store yesterday and we bought this one for him for the living room...
It's very pretty. It looks squishy to me - but he swears it's better. hmmm. I think he just wanted a recliner that would be all his own! :O) But it's also HUGE so it makes this sofa look ridiculous...
Well, I hated that sofa anyway. I loved it 19 years ago when we bought it, but now I hate it. So I ordered a new one from another store that was on an AMAZING clearance sale that should be here on Friday with a new coffee table (because ours has been broken for about 6 years but we just keep using it!) and a new table for in front of the windows. I'm so so so excited about the new furniture! I am so glad to see the old uncomfortable stuff leave! We found someone who wants the family room stuff, but the living room sofa -- no takers. It's Ethan Allen and it's in great condition! We had all new cushions made for it about 6 years ago. I've called around and charities wont accept upholstered furniture. One told me that the dump will take it but I have to cut it up first. Are you kidding me?!! I'm not going to take a saw to it! I thought about putting it in storage for the kids since they will need furniture when they move out or go to college but that's $80 a month! Shoot! In 10 months that would be $800 just to hold onto it in case they want it!!! Not going to happen.

And poor poor Howard...

He is so upset about the changes that all day yesterday he just sat on the bottom landing of the steps shaking. He's very distressed. And to add to his misery, I'm taking him to the vet today for his rabies shot and nail clip! ooooo, it's going to send him right over the edge!

Off to vote...Have a great day.
