Never Ending Beading

I have been working and working on this LITTLE wall quilt. I think I may be over beading it...How could it still not be finished? It's been almost a week. Remember the post last week...wanted to finish this quilt AND Kellie's quilt by the end of LAST weekend. Well, as we quickly approach THIS weekend and I'm still beading this one I'm not very confident about the status of Kellie's quilt changing any time soon.

I went to Joann's to get Kellie some supplies for her "100th Day of School" project. She has to attached 100 objects (of her choice) to poster board. She's doing 100 wooden stars.

She decorated all of them with sharpie markers (with a little help from Molly) now we just have to glue them on. She's going to lay them all out when she gets home and then I will hot glue them to the poster board. While I was at Joanns I bought a huge container of gesso because I want to do some painting. I had really been hoping to have the two quilts finished by now so that I could be painting this week. Now, I'll be lucky if I can start painting next week! eeerrrrrg.

Oh, and while I was out shopping this man (about 80 years old) walks by me and says "mmm, mmm, mmm" in this sex offender voice. Aaaaaahhhhh. What was that? Is he just a pathetic old pervy freak? Is he off his meds? Was he thinking it was a complement? I really do not understand that behavior. Was he hoping for a "yeah baby! Meet me in the parking lot in 10 minutes!" Was I suppose to say thank you? What is that?! It bugged me all day. When my 16 year old came home I told him...don't ever do that to a girl/'s freaky, it's offensive, it's rude. I could go on and on. It completely wigged me out.

On another subject, Howard went to the vet to have his nails clipped so I took the opportunity to have him weighed. He's 8 months old and 111 pounds. A man asked me just how big he would get...who knows but he has about another 70 pounds to gain :o) He is the biggest, sweetest, calmest dog I have ever had. He just wants to snuggle and take walks - and eat Cheetos whenever possible. Snuggling is by far his favorite thing though...Poor Molly is trying to text with her friend.

I Love this one with Ryan. Howard is sound asleep with that bone in his mouth and snoring.

Sweet Howard And Stitching To Do

Oh Good Lord! Look at the carnage! That poor pathetic "bush" was once a gorgeous Butterfly Bush!!!! Do you see the branches all over the ground????

This is what made me think there might be trouble...

Do you see the giant branch in his mouth and the bits all over the deck? Yeah. Good times. He's very sorry now though.

Soooo...Even though they are calling for maybe some snow (cross my fingers so that I don't have to go to class tonight) I'm thinking more about spring. I'm working on this little quilt today.

I also have a quilt I made for Kellie that still needs all the beading done to it. I'd like to have both of these finished by the end of this weekend. I have some other things that I'm anxious to start working on, but I promised Kellie...first things first...She doesn't mess around!

This is the quilt Kellie is waiting for to hang by her bed. I colored the background of this little quilt and then used hand dyed floss to stitch the entire thing. Now I have to go back and do all the beading which is always my favorite part.

I used these crayons to color the background and draw the flower...

Very fun. I've used them a lot when I don't want to hand dye the fabric. I painted the background of this little valentine I made last year using regular ol' craft acrylic paints. It was really fun.

Snowy Day

I took this photo on Thursday, January 17, 2008. I love this kind of snow - when it sticks to the trees and turns everything this beautiful gray and white. It makes me want to put on fleece and slippers and drink coffee all day.

I decided that I should just sit in my fleece and drink coffee all day and work on this for my blog header. I think that makes for a very productive day. Much more fun than I love working with felted wool and beads. They are my two most favorite things.

We had a good weekend. The kids were on a school break from Thursday - Monday. Mark stayed home Monday, too so we all went out to breakfast and later in the day Mark and I visited our favorite shop in town.

We bought this little white feather tree from there the day after Christmas. We decided to keep it up all year and just change the decorations for each season/holiday. I had it decorated for winter, but since it's almost Valentine's Day I decided to add some red hearts. I think this is such a great tree.

Well my Resolutions for the new year are to...

1. Start a blog....a

2. Start stitching more...we'll see.

I have so many little quilts and pillows in my head that I need to just stop being so distracted and get to work on them. I'm hoping that this blog will get me motivated. I've decided that in order for me to be happy, I must set time aside for me...for what I want...for what I need. Hard to do with a family, but I'm determined. This year will be a great year.
